Nessebar photos
Aug. 10th, 2006 09:28 pmHoliday photos from Old Nessebar, anyone?

( Drinking fountain )
( Tower near the basilica Virgin Eleousa )
( Excavation with restaurant )
( The entrance to Old Nessebar, with Roman fortifications )
( Sad thing from St. Stephan, a church from the 10th or 11th century )
( St. John Aliturghetos, 14th century )
( And a hysterically funny little something... )
There are lots more. Will have to get a pro account for all these photos.

Øya, day one
Aug. 10th, 2006 10:06 pmDue to a plane breaking down + repairs attempted but eventually found impossible to make + new plane fetched from Stockholm and flown to Burgas via Oslo, we got home ten hours later than planned last night. Which means we missed the club gigs kicking off the Øya festival. Which means I missed Lukas Kasha.
Woo fucking hoo.
Today, however, we got ourselves to the festival in time for The Cumshots, which was nice but perhaps a little too much rock'n roll a little too early in the day.
Then, finding that there weren't many interesting bands today, I snagged a seat near the Sjøsiden stage and caught !!! which started out nice but repetitive and eventually mind-numbingly boring (not to mention occasionally funky, ew), Band Of Horses which was very heard-it-before-a-gazillion-times-esque uninteresting and Spank Rock which was okay. Missed Enslaved deliberately because of headache. Left well before Morrissey started moping about, thank you very much, and didn't have the energy to stay around for The Knife.
Was spectacularly rained on. I swear it rained straight through my rain poncho. My brother managed to roll and light a cigarette while it poured, which was nothing less than amazing.
Tomorrow will be far, far better, because The Cramps are coming and that will save any day, no matter how miserable.
Also: the boyfriend ordered the Seigmen DVD ages ago, and finally got it. It's all kinds of wonderful, of course.
