I've had it with massive, yet leader-supported, idiocy.

I've had it with being ignored and especially with having my field ignored, except when morons who know shit about my field waddle all over it and get applauded for their "good" (i.e. impressively awful) work.

I've had it with ignorance and arrogance and disloyalty to colleagues.

I'm reading job ads, oh yes I am.

Have a big "HUG", a comforting cuddle, some hot drinking chocolate, and a dose of good luck and well wishes.

I'm keeping well, thank you.
My job in the post office is keeping me busy, and since my Science Fiction convention co-chair died in July I haven't been inclined to post much on LJ.

The Con organising is taking up what bits of time I have, though it needs more time.

In general, things are good. Unlike yourself, I am managing to step aside from the politics and not be directly impacted. I am suitably situated organisation wise to be an observer and straddling most sides of the..., conflict is too blatant a word, but does capture the essence of the occasion at times.

Child-wise things seem to be going ok! The eldest is merrily theatre-ising away and getting on well with her boyfriend; the next one's heading off to Wisconsin for the Christmas with her US boyfriend; number three is having a ball at college where he seems to spend more time in roll-playing games (I refuse to refer to them as RPGs as where I grew up that meant, "Rocket Propelled Grenades"...One could get into all sorts of trouble saying RPG) than studying; and the youngest (11) has just finihed a project on "The Supernatural" and started one on "Irish recipients of the Nobel Prize for Literature". I'd say you could name all the "Irish recipients of the Nobel Prize for Literature" without recourse to Google. I got to five and couldn't think of the sixth.

Have you any intentions of going to more Sci Fi conventions? Our convention, "Phoenix Convention Six" (P-Con VI) focuses only on written Sci Fi. It has been broadened to include graphic novels and is the richer for it. We get about 150 members each year which makes it a nice friendly get-together. With around 20 guest authors there is a good mix.

You must get over to is some year. I'd love to have that cup of coffee with you and spend a few hours on a "jolly good chin-wag".

I take it Norway is a bit cold at the moment. We've been hovering between -5 and 7 degrees for the past week. No snow to mention, and thankfully, no rain to turn into ice. We're not equipped for weather any more severe than we're having. Give us half an inch of snow and we'll be delighted to close down the country for a week.

Keep well, and Illegitimi non carborundum!

Tsk, that´s so annoying...I ask myself why bosses can´t never see who is really efficient and who is not, I suspect they prefer having idiot people around that can´t be dangerous for them

I suspect that is a large part of the problem. Efficient subordinates might expose the inadequacies of their bosses.

Unfortunately, I did just that yesterday...

I've just been given a stress relief ball though.

Oh, but in this case there is danger. Law-breaking danger.

*sigh*

Did I remember to mention how much I enjoy NOT working there anymore?
