I've tried Semagic and didn't become friends with it, partly because I use three different PCs and yaaaawwwn at installing everything everywhere.
I hate friending people. I feel like I'm plopping down in their laps and spilling their coffee. On the other hand, I'm terribly flattered when someone friends me first, so I have no idea why I think it's so horrible to be friended by me.
